Building a high-tech identity for the future of automated retail in Panama

Avendin is an emerging brand based in Panama, specializing in the sale and comprehensive maintenance of modern vending machines. Operating in a sector that bridges retail and technology, the company provides automated solutions for businesses that value efficiency and constant availability. Our task was to build their very first visual identity, positioning them as a premium, quality-driven leader in the local market.

[2] CHALLANGES

The Panamanian vending market is currently saturated with visual noise and inconsistent branding. Most competitors rely on outdated, chaotic designs that fail to inspire trust or communicate technological advancement. Avendin needed to break through this "overstimulation" with a look that feels professional, stable, and cutting-edge, moving away from the "cheap" perception often associated with traditional vending services.

Engineering a minimalist and tech-focused brand system

We decided to pursue a minimalist path to ensure the brand stands out through clarity and sophistication. Our strategic focus was to merge the mechanical nature of the business with a human-centric service approach.

We designed a custom logotype where the foundation is a bold, capital "A". We introduced a specific 65° angle in the crossbars and skeleton of the letters to mimic technical precision and forward movement. This "technological notch" makes the logo instantly recognizable and gives it a unique character without overcomplicating the form.

While the uppercase letters provide a sense of strength and stability, we customized the lowercase "e" and "n" with softer, rounded shapes. We did this because it injects a necessary "human touch" into the brand, signaling that behind the machines is a dedicated, friendly service team.

To further differentiate Avendin from the typical "high-tech blue" used by almost every competitor, we implemented a sophisticated purple-based palette. This choice positions the brand in the premium segment and ensures high visibility on physical machines and digital interfaces alike.

By stripping away the visual clutter and focusing on geometric precision, we provided Avendin with an identity that reflects their commitment to quality and innovation. The new branding doesn't just look "modern"—it builds immediate professional credibility, allowing a startup brand to compete directly with established players by looking like the market leader from day one.
